Research interests

I am currently doing a PhD on the properties of cross-linked semi-flexible networks under the supervision of Prof. Eugene Terentjev.

Cross-linked semi-flexible networks occur in many biologically relevent systems including the cytoskeleton of cells, blood clots, and blood vessels. The properties of these networks - such as strain stiffening - are crucial to their function, understanding the physics of such networks is therefore an active research area. A nice article summarizing recent (2006) progress in this field can be found here .

At present, I am focussing on the zero frequency elastic modulus of the network in equilibrium, although we hope to also look at the non-equilibrium behaviour, and the properties around the rigidity transition. For more details see research
