Sarah receives WISE Research Award

Sarah receives WISE Research AwardDr Sarah Bohndiek from the Cancer Research UK Institute at the University of Cambridge, was announced last night as the winner of the WISE Research Award, sponsored by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Wellcome Trust, for using physics and engineering to develop tools for early cancer detection.

Dr Diana Fusco has joined the Cavendish this Summer with a Lectureship, to set up a mixed experimental/computational research programme in biological physics. Her team will initially investigate microbial populations, growth and evolution, interactions between bacteria and phages.
